Early in the morning (7:30 am) we will pick you up from your hotel in a 4x4 vehicle to begin our adventure to Sajama. We will travel across the vast and expansive Altiplano. After approximately 5 hours, we will arrive at Sajama National Park (6,542 meters above sea level). At the foot of the volcano that gives the park its name, we will have lunch, followed by walks and hikes around the first national park and protected area in Bolivia. We will visit the Queñua forests (a dwarf tree), hot springs, geysers, lagoons, and observe the local wildlife. We will enjoy views of Mount Sajama and the Andes mountain range, which connects Bolivia and Chile. We will arrive at the lodge between 13 and 14 hours, approximately, including stops along the way.
Enjoy a home-cooked dinner at our lodge at the end of your first day.
