Madidi National Park is considered part of the last lung of the world. It is for this reason that this biodiversity is protected with the National Park of Integrated Management. It has more than 3235 species between flora and fauna. It is listed as the Protected Area with the greatest biodiversity in the world. This is an ideal place for nature and adventure lovers. The Chalalán ecotourism lodge, in Madidi Park, is the oldest and most recognized community enterprise in Bolivia.

The Madidi IMA National Park celebrates 29 years of its creation and is considered one of the most biodiverse protected areas in the world, since it has a great diversity of ecosystems and varied altitudinal gradient, which has allowed the development of a wide variety of species of wild plants and animals. –

 




ITINERARY


Day 1: La Paz – Rurrenabaque – Chalalan Ecolodge

Early in the morning our staff will stop by your hotel for a transfer to El Alto International Airport. And board our flight to the city of Rurrenabaque. (not included in the rate, but you can make them with us).

Flight from La Paz to Rurrenabaque takes approximately 50 minutes. From the plane you will have the opportunity to appreciate the breathtaking panoramic view of the Royal Cordillera of the Andes and the Amazon. Arrival, reception at the airport by a guide and transfer to the office. To then continue the trip by outboard motor boat to the Ecolodge. The boat trip will take approximately 5 and 1/2 hours navigating the Beni and Tuichi rivers, the trip is an opportunity to enjoy and appreciate beautiful landscapes such as the Bala Canyon (Bala George), landscapes of the tropical jungle, with the possibility of observing some animals and birds until you reach the port of Chalalán. (Halfway through the tour we serve a box lunch or snack). Arrival, From the main port we start a 25-minute walk until we reach the Chalalán lagoon where the Ecolodge is located. Reception and welcome, and accommodation in their respective rooms. Welcome lunch.

In the afternoon, we will have a short hike along one of the themed trails, where the local guide will interpret the tropical rainforest and its traditional use. Return by canoe on the lake to observe some species of monkeys and birds. Dinner. After dinner we will start a short walk to observe the nocturnal life of animals, especially a variety of insects.

Day 2: Chalalan Ecolodge – Madidi National Park.

Breakfast at the Ecolodge. Then we will have a 3 to 4 hour guided hike along the Tapacaré trail or similar, where the local guide will deepen the interpretation of the rainforest and ecological processes. Return to the Hostel. Lunch. In the afternoon, after a short break (siesta), you will visit the viewpoint from where you can observe the beautiful scenery of Lake Chalalan and the extensive primary rainforest of Madidi National Park. Talk about the history of the community, the Chalalan project and the creation of the Madidi Park, Retorno.

Dinner; Dinner will be typical food of the area buffet type

Canoe ride, a special activity to observe the impressive sparkle of the eyes of alligators and other animals.

Traditional night (Quechua – Tacana) where our local guides will explain about the customs, uses and rituals of the indigenous Uchupiamonas, where you can taste a traditional local drink, delight in local music and dance with the people of our community of San José de Uchupiamonas.

Día 3: Chalalan Ecolodge – Rurrenabaque

Breakfast at the Ecolodge. Very early we will have a short hike along one of our trails where you will have your last chance to observe some animals and birds. Return to the Hostel. Lunch.

After lunch, we will walk to the Chalalán port to board the motor boat back to Rurrenabaque. During the trip it is recommended to always be attentive on the way to observe some animals. The return trip takes only 3 hours.

Arrival in Rurrenabaque and transfer to the airport for passengers who have a return flight to La Paz.

To visit the city of Rurrenabaque, it is in the season of March – August. Since it is the dry season of the year.

How can I get to Rurrenabaque City?

To get to the city of Rurrenabaque from the city of La Paz, we can do it from El Alto International Airport. (Which we recommend). Or by land which is approximately 9 hours. This is not recommended in the rainy season, since the roads are unstable.
