LA PAZ - COPACABANA - ISLA DEL SOL
Early in the morning, we are ready to pick you up from your hotel to begin our adventure in a private tourist transport (shared option) to the Andean town of Copacabana. As we begin our adventure towards the highest navigable lake in the world we will be able to stop and take pictures of the lake with a special guest in the background, the Andes mountain range. After almost 2 hours of travel we get ready to cross the Strait of Tiquina in motor boats for 20 minutes, and then continue our trip through countless pre-Columbian terraces of agriculture built during the Chiripa, Tiwanaku and Inca cultures. After 31/2 hours approx. of travel, we arrive in the town of Copacabana and we settle in our Hotel 3 to 4* - as required.
Then we move to the shores of the lake to board our motorboat bound for the Island of the Sun, cradle of the Inca empire. Arrival in the southern part of the island and visit to the temple of Pilkocaina, and then take a hike to the town of Yumani and enjoy the landscape of the lake and the Royal Cordillera of the Andes, then we descend through the Sacred Steps and the Sacred Fountain of the Incas, where we will have our apthapi lunch. Afternoon Mass We return by boat to the town of Copacabana and transfer to the hotel, where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset of the Sacred Lake. Night at the Hotel.
After breakfast we will stop by your hotel to start our day with a walk through the picturesque streets of the town of Copacabana, we will visit the Church that houses the Virgen Morena, the local market where the famous pasankallas, the Bolivian Andean sweet pop corn, are exhibited for sale. Optional ascent to Calvario Hill and we will have our lunch, for later return by tourist transport to the city of La Paz. It is estimated that we arrive in the city of Paz at approximately 20 to 21, at the door of your hotel. –Hrs. 10:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the bus terminal (shared).

Altitude sickness, also known as acute mountain sickness, can affect anyone who climbs too quickly to an altitude above 8,000 feet. Symptoms include headache, dizziness, fatigue, shortness of breath, and nausea. If symptoms persist or worsen, it is best to seek medical attention, as it can be more serious than simple altitude sickness. The best solution is to acclimatize with a day or two of rest. We offer tours from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, which is at an altitude of 416 meters above sea level.
